Poppins International Pre-School (PIPS) is a world class educational facility purposely established to cater the highest quality education and care in a safe, positive, nurturing, and intellectually stimulating environment for children ages 1 to 4.
At PIPS, we acknowledge the value of early childhood experiences because they lay the foundation of an individual’s adult character. The experiences that we provide our students have significant impact on their potential for learning, disposition for learning, readiness for school, success in school, and inevitably, their ability to become productive citizens of the future.
We believe that children are competent learners who develop in multitude ways and at various rates but are essentially similar in terms of their need for a base of nurturing, secure, and enabling relationships. PIPS endorses meaningful learning opportunities in an environment that promotes independence and critical thinking. We aim to facilitate skills that will support our student’s development for future higher learning.

Poppins International Pre-School is committed to supporting our student’s optimal development by promoting a positive school culture, providing an effective instructional programme based on Poppins’ edu-care philosophy, applying best practice to student learning, and forging a lasting collaborative partnership with the rest of the international community in Tokyo.

  • Our unique team consists exclusively of qualified, experienced pre-school, kindergarten, and elementary school teachers and experienced teaching assistants.
  • We combine high quality care with a strong educational program to suit the needs of young children.
  • We maintain very high teacher to student ratio (approx1:3) to ensure quality interaction with children(our student number never exceeds 18).
  • Students who graduate from our school have a high acceptance rate in some of the most prestigious international schools in Tokyo.
  • We aim to work closely with families providing feedback about their child’s progress and creating strong links between home and school
  • We strive to make our school a natural extension of the child’s life by combining both familiar and new experiences.
  • With the knowledge that children learn by doing, we have designed a curriculum that promotes exploration and discovery.
  • We help children adjust to our English language program by supporting them in their native language whenever possible. 
  • We provide a weekly newsletter. This letter includes specific curricular information, song lyrics and book lists, messages from PIPS teachers, current educational issues and other supportive child care advice for parents.
  • We encourage open communication with the entire family; therefore, teachers are accessible through e-mail, telephone or in-school meetings.
  • We welcome bag lunches and also offer organic lunch boxes especially catered by local restaurant LUCA DELI.
