FAQ Everything You Need to Know Before You Arrive.
  • What ages do you accept?

    We warmly welcome children from 3 months to 12 years old.

  • Can I use the service without a reservation?

    As long as space is available, same-day drop-ins are welcome. However, as capacity is limited, we highly recommend booking in advance.

  • Is your facility licensed by the State of Hawaii?

    Yes, we are a fully licensed child care center certified by the State of Hawaii.

  • Are your staff members qualified?

    Yes. In accordance with State of Hawaii regulations, we always staff our center with qualified teachers.

  • My child attends an international school. Can staff communicate in English?

    Yes. Our bilingual staff fluent in both English and Japanese will ensure smooth, comfortable communication.

  • Do I need to be staying at the Sheraton Waikiki to use the service?

    No, our service is open to everyone, regardless of where you are staying.

  • Can you pick up my child from our hotel?

    Parents or guardians are kindly requested to bring their children directly to our kids’ room.

  • What is the staff-to-child ratio?

    To ensure safety, we maintain the following staff-to-child ratios:
    ・Ages 0 to 2.5: 1 staff member per 1–2 children
    ・Over 2.5 years: 1 staff member per maximum 6 children

  • This is my child’s first time in childcare and they might cry. Is that okay?

    It is completely normal for children to shed a few tears at first. Our experienced staff will gently comfort your child, and most return to their parents with big smiles.

  • What should we bring for the program?

    Please bring a change of clothes, a swimsuit (if participating in water activities), snacks (as needed), water, a hat, and sunscreen. *Note: You are welcome to bring your own lunch or order one for an additional fee.

  • What should we bring for field trips?

    Due to the strong sunlight and high temperatures, please bring a hat, water, and sunscreen (applied prior to arrival).

  • Are meals or snacks provided?

    Lunch can be ordered for an additional fee or brought from home. Please bring your own snacks as they are not provided.

  • Can staff assist with nursing or formula feeding?

    Yes, we are happy to feed your child if you provide a complete feeding set. For extended stays, please prepare separate bottles for each feeding for hygiene reasons.

  • Are water-related activities safe?

    Safety is our top priority. All water activities are supervised by at least two qualified staff members, including certified lifeguards and teachers. Life jackets are required for all participating children.

  • I have used Poppins’ nanny service in Japan and would like to use it in Hawaii as well. Is there any difference between the service in Hawaii and Japan?

    Our care in Hawaii operates under the laws and customs of the United States and the State of Hawaii. Please kindly note that the service details differ from Poppins Nanny Service in Japan.
