At ALS Hiroo, April welcomed us into a season of renewal, curiosity, and gentle discovery.
Our monthly thematic focus, Spring Explorers: Discovering Nature, invited children to observe, question, and connect with the natural world around them.
Through hands-on experiences, sensory play, and fun discussions, each week unfolded a new layer of understanding about the changing season.
ポピンズアクティブラーニングスクール広尾(ALS広尾)では、4月を迎え、再生と好奇心、そして穏やかな発見の季節が始まりました。
今月のテーマ「春の探検家 ― 自然を発見する」では、お子様たちが身の回りの自然を観察し、疑問を持ち、自然とのつながりを感じる活動を行いました。
体験活動や感覚遊び、楽しい話し合いを通じて、毎週、移り変わる季節に対する理解を深めていきました。
Week 1: Spring is Waking Up
We began the month by introducing the signs of spring and encouraging students to become aware of the world around them.
With themes like Flower Detectives and Weather Watchers, students developed an early awareness of patterns in nature.
This week laid the foundation for curiosity, observation, and wonder.
第1週：春の目覚め
今月は、春の兆しを紹介し、お子様たちが身の回りの世界に意識を向けるよう促すことから始めました。
「花の探偵」や「お天気観察員」といったテーマを通じて、お子様たちは自然の中にあるパターンへの気づきを育みました。
この週は、好奇心や観察力、そして驚きへの感性を育む土台となりました。
Week 2: Cherry Blossom Festival
In our second week, we celebrated one of Japan’s most beloved seasonal traditions, the cherry blossom festival!
Students engaged in creative activities inspired by Sakura.
They even learned and practiced Suminagashi.
Through stories, songs, and sensory play, they explored the cultural significance of cherry blossoms while deepening their appreciation for beauty, change, and fleeting moments in nature.
第2週：桜まつり
2週目には、日本で最も愛されている季節の伝統行事の一つである「桜まつり」を祝いました！
お子様たちは桜にインスピレーションを得た創作活動に取り組み、墨流しも体験しました。
物語や歌、感覚遊びを通じて、桜の文化的意義を探求すると同時に、自然の美しさ、変化、そして移ろいゆく瞬間を慈しむ気持ちを深めました。
Week 3: Tiny Creatures and New Life
As spring continued to unfold, we shifted our focus to the small but fascinating world of insects and new life.
Students explored Tiny Creatures through books, movement, and imaginative play, learning about bugs, their habitats, and how they move.
This theme encouraged empathy and curiosity, as students began to understand that even the smallest creatures play an important role in our ecosystem.
第3週：小さな生き物と新しい命
春が深まるにつれ、私たちは小さくも魅力的な昆虫や新しい命の世界に焦点を当てました。
お子様たちは本や体を動かす活動、想像力豊かな遊びを通じて「小さな生き物」を探求し、虫の種類や生息地、動き方について学びました。
このテーマを通じて、どんなに小さな生き物でも生態系において重要な役割を果たしていることを理解し始め、共感と好奇心が育まれました。
Week 4: Caring for Our Earth
In our final week, we guided students toward developing a sense of responsibility for the environment.
Students learned what it means to care for the Earth, whether through tidying up, respecting nature, or noticing how their actions impact the world around them.
These experiences helped nurture early values of kindness, respect, and stewardship.
第4週：地球を大切に
最後の週では、環境に対する責任感を育めるようお子様たちを導きました。
片付けや自然への敬意、自分の行動が周囲の世界に与える影響に気づくことなどを通じて、地球を大切にするとはどういうことかを学びました。
これらの経験は、優しさ、敬意、そして環境を守る意識といった、幼少期から培うべき価値観を育む助けとなりました。
Throughout April, our students engaged with nature not just as observers, but as active participants in the world around them.
From noticing the first signs of spring to understanding how to care for our environment.
As we move into the next season, we carry forward this sense of curiosity and connection, continuing to explore, discover, and grow together.
4月を通して、お子様たちは単なる自然の観察者としてではなく、周囲の世界への積極的な参加者として関わりました。
春の訪れを最初に感じ取る瞬間から、環境を守る方法を理解することまで、幅広く学びました。
次の季節へと移り変わる中、私たちはこの好奇心とつながりの感覚を胸に抱き、共に探求し、発見し、成長し続けていきます。

Join our Superhero Saturday Trial Lesson on May 16th, where your child can be a superhero for the day!
